With Wind & Fire, Belgian artist Marie Michielssen ventures into a relatively new field for her, glass. A very living material, shaped by a combination of wind and fire. Marie saw in glass a new opportunity to experiment with color.
This collection takes the organic forms of her Earth collection in paper mache, but also completely new forms. Marie Michielssen explains, ”The shape of these vases is reminiscent of old apothecary jars: I love the proportions of these jars.”
